Planning to propose to your loved one on a a romantic short break is a great option. And if you have enjoyed holidays in Mallorca together, what could be more perfect? For many couples, a proposal in the place where they’ve shared happy memories makes things even more magical.

So we’ve put together 10 places for an unforgettable Mallorca proposal. And for more inspiration, check out our 12 top tips for the perfect Mallorca proposal.

1. A romantic getaway

One of the most romantic places we know is the wonderful Can Bordoy hotel located in the heart of the historic centre of Palma. This gorgeous old palace has been wonderfully refurbished and has lush gardens, fabulous suites, a spa, pool and rooftop terrace.

They do special packages for romantic escapes, all-day spa and brunch and gourmet dining. So even if you don’t stay there, you can still make your proposal in this stunning setting. We’re fans!

2. A restaurant in historic Palma by candlelight

A restaurant with an intimate and romantic atmosphere could be the perfect place to propose. One of our favourites is Merchants in the Palacio Can Marques, an 18th century palace in Palma’s old town. The décor is cool and contemporary, there are cosy alcoves and even a private room for your proposal.

And for an element of surprise, you could negotiate with the waiter to present the engagement ring on the dessert or perhaps inside a glass of cava.

3. On a mountain walk

Mallorca’s Tramuntana mountains have a majestic beauty all their own. Honey and rose-coloured stone villages, aromatic pines, the distant sound of sheep’s bells and glimpses of deep blue sea through the trees create timeless spots, perfect for a proposal. So our choice would be near the amazing Monastir de Miramar near Deia, or on a dramatic clifftop over looking the bay at the Port of Soller. Then, why not celebrate with a romantic dinner at Sa Figuera restaurant at Hotel Es Port. Or ask us about having your proposal at our private romantic olive grove in the mountains), finishing with a celebratory dinner at Michelin-starred restaurant, Es Raco de Teix in Deia.

4. Luxury breakfast in bed

You’ve managed to get away from the stress and bustle of normal life and settled into a cosy hotel for your short break. Why not surprise your beloved with a proposal with breakfast in bed? For us, the first choices would be the wonderfully luxurious Son Net hotel in Puigpunent, stunning Sa Pedrissa near Deia or super-luxe La Residencia in Deia itself.

5. On the beach

Mallorca has many amazing beaches. One of our favourite spots for a proposal would be the tiny picturesque beach at Cala Fornells near Paguera.

We think this is a great spot for a proposal

Tucked away and secluded, the beach has a special magic and the water here is crystal-clear. Close by, La Gritta restaurant is a good choice for a quiet celebration meal and has a tiny private terrace. On the other side of the island, close to Son Servera, restaurant Sa Punta has a delightful promontory giving panoramic sea views and the attractive restaurant is just steps away for a celebratory lunch or dinner.

6. A sunset sail

A couple on board a yacht watch the sunsetWe love boats! And a sunset sail from the Port of Soller or Andratx is one of our top tips for an unforgettable proposal.

Watching the sunset at Sa Foradada with a glass of cava is one of the most romantic things we can think of. If you are walking fans, you could start with the walk from Son Marroig and have the boat arrive to pick you up as a special surprise, ready for your proposal on board.  Perfect Charter has a fleet of sleek modern yachts, while Bonnie Lass is a lovingly-restored Scottish fishing boat if you prefer a vintage flavour.

7 Into the garden

The Jardins de Alfabia are one of the great highlights of Mallorca. The historic old finca is beautifully positioned with the mountains as a backdrop and there are many secluded spots in the gardens which are just perfect for a romantic proposal. The charming S’Horta restaurant is conveniently located close by for that celebratory cava and dinner.

8 A mountain hermitage near Valdemossa

This peaceful spot is a hidden gem. The panoramic sea views from its stone terraces are amazing and the setting of the little monastery is charming.

This hidden gem is near Valldemosa with amazing sea vistas

There are even five hermits in residence. Accessed by a steep and winding mountain road, this is perhaps best for the more adventurous and the driving requires a bit of nerve but once you arrive, it’s well worth it. We think this is a great place for a proposal and Can Costa restaurant with its traditional menu and friendly staff is close by for a celebratory lunch.

9 A romantic temple

Port Verd is a deservedly popular restaurant and wedding venue on the east coast of the island. Its white beach club ambience, crystal clear blue sea and attractive garden make a wonderful setting. But it’s the romantic stone temple with its flowing white curtains which is the highlight and makes it a perfect spot for a proposal, followed by a celebratory dinner.Port Verd

10 A suite carved out of the rock with your own infinity pool

We just love the amazing Sentinel suites hewn out of the rock at the luxury fortress hotel, Cap Rocat. They have a unique James Bond feel we can’t resist which is enhanced by the Moroccan-style uniformed staff and the electric buggies which whisk you and your luggage to your room. We can’t think of anything more romantic than checking into your own stone-vaulted suite with your beloved, perhaps cueing up your playlist and proposing, just as the sun sinks into the sea behind your private infinity pool. Then you can stroll down the rocky path to the gourmet Sea Club restaurant for a celebratory dinner.
